1. Melissa Solis Sanchez, is our intern working on refugee legal reform in DRC

Melissa Solis Sanchez is a third-year law student at Florida State University College of Law. In Fall 2023, she participated in the International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic during which she worked alongside an organization in Cameroon to address gender-based violence issues. Currently, Melissa is assisting Global Refugee Leaders Forum in drafting a new refugee law which will govern refugees in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Samatha Barzaga our volunteer working on solutions towards humanitarian crisis in DRC

Samantha Barzaga is a second-year Law student at Florida State University College of Law. In Fall of 2023, she was a member of the College of Law’s International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic, where she worked alongside GRLF to advocate for the solutions to the current Humanitarian Crisis and Situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Samantha is passionate about human rights and has worked to advocate for designating Temporary Protected Status for the DRC in the United States. She believes the current humanitarian crisis in DRC should be given a particular attention by the USA Administration and other decision-makers around the Globe.
