Kulihoshi Musikami Pecos, the Founder and the current COORDINATOT of GRLF
Kulihoshi Musikami Pecos is Human Rights Defender specialized in refugee rights rights in the Great Lakes Region of Africa, engaged in the promotion of Refugee Rights in the Great Lakes Region and the same time in the promotion of peace, democracy and good governance in the Great Lakes Region of Africa. Pecos started my activism in Bukavu South Kivu, DRCongo in 1998 under the Civil Society which caused him to flee DRC in 2000 in order to seek asylum in Kampala Uganda, where he lived until 2020. Pecos has a long period of experience as a refugee in Uganda, in 2020 he was persecuted in Uganda because of defending refugee rights and in order to save his life, he moved back to DRC where he established GRLF. Pecos is the current Coordinator of GRLF, he is also a researcher and advocacy on various refugee issues including offering trainings on Civic Education, Human Rights Education, Career Guidance and Non-violence. Currently I’m working on the protection of refugees in eastern DRCongo mainly in Goma North Kivu a project which we started in this year 2021. My dream is to propel this network and place it on high in the field of forced migrants in DRCongo.
