Alexi Akaje a former Rwandan Refugees being used by Rwanda now to identify refugees in Kivu

His name is Alex Akaje deployed by the Government of Rwanda in order to identify Hutu Rwandan Refugees in North Kivu, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We continue getting alerts from Hutu Rwandan Refugees in North Kivu, about the presence of someone called Alexi Akaje and his team from Rwanda, in order to identify Rwandan refugees and deport them back to Rwanda. Alexi is very well known by all refugees in North Kivu, because he was placed among the urban refugee leaders where he played a great work to spy on behalf of Rwanda. Both the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR and the Congolese Commission for Refugees were alerted about the mission of Alexi Akaje but they did almost nothing on contrary they defended and protected him. Later on last year Akaje Alexi moved to Rwanda where he stayed until January 2025 when M23 captured Goma.

Akaje is back to Goma, in North Kivu in order to identify refugees and hand them over to Rwanda, some have been already victims while others are still hiding. And as usual, Rwanda is doing in order to justify the presence of FDLR, all male refugees are considered and presented as FDLR and the female as their wives.

At this stage we call upon all those who have influence on Rwanda especially countries that are supporting Rwanda to use their diplomatic power and call upon Rwanda to stop all abuses against Hutus refugees in Kivu.

It is now more than 30 years that Hutus refugees in the Democratic Republic of Congo are massacred by Rwanda in total silence. This should stop now.

We also call upon all those who are supporting this war to stop using refugees, especially those who have benefited the international protection such as Willy Manzi in Goma and Alexi Akaje among others who are involved in war.
